Gouache on board

This piece was originally painted as a cover for a comic magazine worked on by myself and artist Alan McVicar in the 90's. Although the project never found funding and had eventually to be abandoned, it was a fertile time creatively for me, and this painting remains popular. It appeared in two magazines, Starlog (in a review of my work) and Oddyssey (for which a slightly amended version appeared on the cover). The original was then stolen when the magazine folded, though I remain hopefull that someday someone may return it.

I did fortunately have a fairly good scan of it and few years later the design was licensed to appear on a snowboard.

Even more recently I was able to tattoo a version of this image onto the arm of a friend of mine!!
