Gouache and inks on board, cover for the Fighting Fantasy Gamebook Night Dragon by Keith Martin (Puffin Books 1993)

After having done the interior illustrations for the Fighting Fantasy Gamebook Spectral Stalkers I was offered Night Dragon, but this time I managed to talk them into letting me do the cover art as well. So this was my first book cover, a black dragon in a dark cave - no easy task! I opted to paint it in gouache and inks, which I was more confident with than acrylics at the time. It was more or less my proudest moment professionally when I finally got the printed book in my hand..
